This training educates mental health professionals on how to integrate clinical hypnosis into mental health treatment. Workshop participants will be offered designs for constructing hypnotic interventions as well as instructions for teaching self-hypnosis in clinical practice. About the trainer:
The workshop is presented by Gary Chapin, M.S., LCPC, LADC, NBCCH who is a National Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist with over twenty-five years experience as a trainer, therapist, and
clinical supervisor. Gary was certified as a practitioner of hypnosis using neurolinguistic programming in 1986 by John Grinder, Delozier, and Associates. He has worked with a broad spectrum of clients using clinical hypnosis to treat a wide range of mental health disorders. In addition to private practice, Gary served in the public sector as clinical consultant for the State of Connecticut providing training for health care professionals in therapeutic and social services, including child protection teams, crisis intervention therapists, mental health and substance abuse counselors, and trauma workers.

Advanced training will be available to graduates of this workshop. The advanced training meets the standards of the National Board For Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists for professionals seeking certification by the board. Please refer to the workshop brochure to learn about the certification requirements. The advanced workshops may include (but are not limited to) the following topics: applications of hypnosis in the treatment of psychological trauma, anxiety and mood disorders, dissociative disorders, pain management, and the benefits of adding hypnosis to EMDR and Ego State Therapy.
